What are carbide knives?

Carbide knives offer several advantages over traditional steel knives. The most significant advantage is their durability. They are often used in industrial settings, such as factories or warehouses, where they may be subject to much use.

Baucor manufactures and supplies both standard and custom size solid carbide knives and blades for all kinds of use, regardless of its industry or application. Our carbide knives are made from a wide variety of carbide grades including C10, C30 C40 and so on. We are highly specialized in manufacturing custom carbide knives in circular, straight and even odd shapes per sample and drawing. Advantages of using carbide knives

There are many advantages of using carbide knives:

  • Durability
Carbide knives are made from a rigid material, making them less likely to become damaged or dull with extended use. They are ideal for heavy-duty applications, such as commercial kitchens or butchers.

  • Cost-effective
Carbide knives require less sharpening than steel knives because the hard carbide material holds its edge for longer, meaning you won't need to sharpen it as often, which leads to saving money in the long run.

  • Stronger
Due to the rigidity of carbide, carbide knives can cut through the most rigid materials.

How carbide knives are manufactured?

Carbide knives are manufactured using a process known as powder metallurgy. In this process, a powdered form of the desired metal is placed in a mold and heated until it liquefies. Once the metal has liquefied, it is allowed to cool and solidify. The resulting piece is then machined to the desired shape and size.

There are several advantages to using powder metallurgy to create carbide knives. First, it allows for greater accuracy and repeatability than other methods. Second, the process results in a robust and durable knife. And third, it is possible to create very complex designs.
